The casual observer thinks it is a Mac Book. I adore this laptop with all my heart. Three complaints are missing from the review, but they are not substantial enough to dock a star. Anybody viewing this machine is advised to be careful. The machine is fantastic in its own right. It has a beautiful screen, is fast, and can be fully customized.

But if you are hoping to overclock the CPU through HP Command Center, this is not it. There are no options for overclocking on the HQ series like there are on the HK series. The description is inaccurate. I have found no other issues with the HQ series so far. However, I was greatly disappointed.

I had been on the phone with multiple customer support agents for over an hour, and I spoke with Intel in a group call. All I was able to get from the customer service was to return the product and try again. Using the Monthly Payment Program, I could extend the payment period and purchase a machine without going all in at once. I have never owned a better laptop. There have been many games played on my system, and I’ve even performed some benchmarks. The temperature remains relatively low. The GPU temperature of my recent Over watch game topped 70°C. All the games I played on this laptop ran well above 60fps, despite not being the world’s fastest or most powerful computer.

As of February 9th, 2020, this laptop arrived at my doorstep without issue. Connecting my computer to my monitor, connect a keyboard and mouse, and then download the Resident Evil 2 remake. It is expected that the fan will be extremely loud and that the CPU will work hard when the game is being played at high settings. It is a multipurpose laptop, and I purchased it for multiple purposes, but I was concerned it would not work with Virtual Reality. However, it does not seem to have the necessary DisplayPort port to connect a VR device at first glance. However, it says “VR Ready” on the box. I found out that I needed a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter to extend the wireless range of my Rift S because the laptop advertised USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4 technology. I’ve successfully used the adapter with SteamVR and Oculus.

It runs a wide range of games and simulations seamlessly. As well as CAD programs and video editing applications, it runs with no issue. It has better performance than my desktop, and I had never seen a laptop like this before.
